The VMI system allowed BioWorld to increase the number of SKUs they managed from a few to several dozen. After one year of being on the TrueCommerce Datalliance VMI platform their products managed grew 112%.  

According to Dawn Miller, VMI Allocation Analyst at BioWorld, the system was essential in expanding their product lines across multiple divisions, “We went from managing just a few SKUs in men’s apparel to handling 36 across men’s, and boy’s clothing. Every time we expand into a new category or pick up more SKUs, our volume increases, and it’s all thanks to the streamlined VMI process.”

The implementation of TrueCommerce’s DatallianceVMI platform had a transformative effect on BioWorld’s operations. Not only did it enable them to manage more SKUs, but it also allowed them to expand their product lines into new divisions, including children’s apparel. The system also improved BioWorld’s ability to forecast demand, preventing stockouts and ensuring that their retail partners had the right products at the right time. 

Neiger remarked on the trust the VMI system helped build between BioWorld and its retail partners, “We’ve built a lot of trust using the VMI tool. It gives us an edge over competitors with homegrown systems. Not only has it allowed us to expand, but it’s also strengthened our relationships with retailers.” 

Additionally, BioWorld has seen increased interest from other retailers in adopting the VMI process. Neiger noted that while not every retailer currently uses VMI, BioWorld is proactively targeting others that could benefit from the system.
